About the Client

The client is a global cloud communications company that provides programmable voice, messaging, and email solutions. With operations across multiple lines of business, they rely heavily on Zuora tenants for billing and subscription management.


The Challenges

The client had 13 Zuora tenants and managing them posed multiple challenges as below.

  1. Managing Users Across Multiple Tenants

    • Managing users across 13 different Zuora tenants was confusing and inefficient.

    • Users had to use a different login and password for each tenant, which was troublesome.

  2. Role Management Issues

    • Role management was not the same across tenants complicating security and compliance.

    • Different roles and access levels for users made it hard to ensure the right people had the right permissions.

  3. No Single Login Framework

    • Lack of a single login system made it difficult to work smoothly across different business units.

    • This made daily operations harder and less efficient.

  4. Problems with Onboarding and Offboarding

    • Each tenant had its own login details, which made it tough to add or remove users.

    • IT teams had to do a lot of manual work to manage user accounts, increasing their workload.

    • This system made it difficult for teams to collaborate smoothly across different functions.

    • All these issues slowed down work and created delays in day-to-day tasks.

We followed a step-by-step approach to address these challenges.

  1. Consolidation of Zuora Tenants

    • Focused on merging all 13 independent Zuora tenants into one unified login system using Zuora OneID.

    • Zuora OneID is an out-of-the-box solution provided by Zuora for streamlining user access.

  2. Analysing Existing User Access

    • Conducted a thorough analysis of existing user access across all tenants.

    • Identified inconsistencies in roles and permissions that needed to be addressed.

  3. Mapping Users Based on Roles and Teams

    • Mapped users based on their legacy roles, business functions, and team structures.

    • Ensured smooth transition without disrupting ongoing operations.
