The client is a global mining and metals enterprise recognized for its large-scale operations across multiple plants and a steadfast commitment to quality and operational excellence. With an extensive product portfolio and continuous modernization initiatives, the company required a digital solution to automate its inspection and sample testing processes and establish traceable, auditable quality control mechanisms across its production lines.
Similar modernization programs have been executed in projects like Oracle Cloud Manufacturing Optimization, where production and quality systems were unified under a single digital framework
The organization's quality management and inspection processes were primarily manual, involving spreadsheets and disconnected workflows. This approach often resulted in data inconsistencies, version control issues, and delays in decision-making.
Key challenges included:
Disjointed Processes: The absence of a unified system for inspection plan creation and management caused inefficiencies and difficulties in maintaining standard procedures across multiple plants.
Lack of Traceability: Quality testing and inspection data were difficult to reconcile, making it challenging to track plan versions or validate outcomes.
Manual Sample Testing: The aluminum testing process was labor-intensive, requiring manual work order retrieval, lab result entry, and result validation.
Integration Barriers: Limited backend access and complex dependencies made it difficult to synchronize inspection and sample data with Oracle Fusion SCM.
Tight Timelines: The solution needed to be designed, developed, and integrated rapidly to align with project milestones under ongoing Fusion implementation.
These challenges affected efficiency, accuracy, and visibility across quality assurance operations, highlighting the need for a robust, automated, and auditable system.
Challenges around disconnected quality workflows were similarly overcome in Mining Leader's Oracle VBCS Quality Solution, where custom apps improved accuracy and traceability.
To address these challenges, our team built and deployed two powerful Oracle Visual Builder Cloud Service (VBCS) applications designed to automate and standardize the client's quality management workflows - Inspection Plan and QA QC Analysis.
Both solutions were delivered through a modular, agile framework integrated seamlessly with Oracle Fusion SCM via REST APIs, ensuring real-time data exchange and scalability for future enhancements.
This modular integration approach mirrors the one used in Oracle Fusion-EBS Coexistence Supply Chain, ensuring seamless communication across connected systems.

Built a dynamic interface for creating, editing, copying, and managing inspection plans.
Introduced version control for traceable plan updates and historical visibility.
Embedded business rule validations and role-based access controls to maintain process integrity.
Optimized application performance using reusable components and efficient service integrations.
Comparable version control and workflow automation were implemented in Oracle R12 Upgrade for Business Agility, enabling consistent process management across global units.
Integrated with Fusion SCM to automatically retrieve relevant work orders for testing.
Enabled creation and management of samples linked to each work order.
Designed a Lab Page for seamless upload, review, and validation of lab results.
Implemented automated threshold validation against predefined parameters in Fusion.
Assigned Pass/Fail outcomes automatically and synchronized approved results back to Fusion.
Provided full audit traceability and data export capabilities for compliance and review.
Similar automation of QA workflows was achieved in Oracle ERP Compliance Automation, where audit integrity and validation were systemically enforced.
Elfonze's expertise in combining OIC and VBCS for enterprise scalability is also demonstrated in SmartMPS Master Production Scheduling, a custom Oracle-based planning solution.
