Unlock Comprehensive ORACLE REDWOOD 25C Insights for HCM and SCM:

Procurement:

  • Suppliers can now manage purchase orders more efficiently through the Redwood Supplier Portal, with intuitive search, filters, and real-time metrics. Easily track acknowledgments, change orders, and overdue items - all in one streamlined view.

  • You can now reserve or adjust funds for change orders using the current budget date, making it easier to process updates as long as the period is open. This flexibility ensures accurate encumbrance accounting without being tied to the original reservation date.

  • The Oracle Redwood experience now lets you search both purchase agreements and their lines with ease. Toggle between views, apply filters, save your searches, and export results; all in a more intuitive, streamlined interface.

  • Buyers now receive a Redwood-style FYI notification when a negotiation opens for preview or response. Using Oracle Analytics Publisher, you can tailor the notification content to match your business needs.

Inventory:

  • You can now reconcile inventory balances from third-party systems using a simple Excel-based template. With Oracle Visual Builder Add-in, it's easy to review and act on exceptions or approvals directly from the spreadsheet.

  • You can now automate actions for lot-controlled goods nearing expiration — get alerts, update material status, or move expired lots to quarantine. New setup options let you define quarantine locations and trigger movement requests directly on the expiration date.

  • The new Quick Access region on the Redwood Inventory Management landing page lets you jump straight to shipment, receipt, or inventory details, no extra clicks needed. Just choose an object type, search by key info, and land directly on the relevant page.

  • You can now perform transactions like interorg transfers, inspections, and shipments on mobile while capturing key details like revision, project, task, or dual UOM. These enhanced mobile pages adapt based on your item or org setup, making field work more flexible and accurate.

Order Management:

  • You can now refine sales order access rules using new attributes like Customer Class and Order Representative, and even create duplicates within access groups. These enhancements make it easier to set precise permissions and manage user access more efficiently.

  • Saved searches are now easier to manage and more customizable; admins can define shared defaults, while users can personalize filters, layouts, and sort orders. These enhancements bring greater flexibility, consistency, and efficiency to everyday search workflows.

  • You can now substitute items on redesigned sales order pages when the original item isn't available — not just on classic pages. This helps reduce backorders, cut excess inventory, and manage demand more flexibly across available stock.

  • You can now prioritize order line reservations using more attributes like Shipment Priority, Demand Class, or Order Type across UI, REST API, or scheduled processes. The new Reservation Priority page lets you create reusable rules, boosting accuracy, speed, and customer satisfaction.

Manufacturing

  • You can now apply data security policies in Redwood to control who can view or manage manufacturing work definitions based on item type, category, or custom rules. This enables more precise access — like allowing users to edit engine work definitions but only view transmission ones.

  • You can now manually reserve materials for specific work order operations using Redwood pages, ensuring availability at every level, from org-wide to serial-specific. This gives manufacturers tighter control over production needs, especially for rework and serialized processes.

  • You now receive FYI notifications in Redwood style when a production exception is reported, with clear details on type, severity, and affected operations. The Work Order link opens the relevant page- Redwood or Classic, based on your system settings.

  • Material transactions tied to FDA-regulated processes now support inline e-signature approvals and e-records in the Redwood interface. This ensures compliance with GMP requirements while keeping the reporting process seamless and secure.

Supply planning

  • The enhanced Redwood Supplies and Demands page now lets you view pegging details and mass edit order attributes — even within simulation sets. These updates make it easier to analyze, adjust, and manage supply and demand data more efficiently.

  • The new Allocation page in Redwood Backlog Management helps you track and adjust item allocations across customers, channels, or regions. View weekly availability, drill into consuming order lines, and reassign supply with simulations for better fulfilment and planning

Oracle Redwood 25C features for HCM Module

Global Payroll

  • From release Oracle HCM 25C, Redwood pages for Payroll Activity are enabled by default, so no extra setup is needed. Key pages like Flow Submission, Messages, and Payroll Checklist are ready to use, with person results automatically indexed for smooth access in the Payroll Activity Center.

  • You can now manage quick actions and worklist notifications more efficiently on the Payroll Activity Center page, with the Actions section displayed above Notifications. This update brings a consistent layout across all Redwood activity centers and dashboards.

Benefits

  • Explore the new eligibility override feature on the redesigned Benefits Summary page, built using Redwood’s Visual Builder Studio. This enhancement makes it easier to manage benefits with a more intuitive and streamlined user experience.

  • A new safeguard in the Back Out Life Events process helps prevent unintended bulk deletions, especially when the resulting status is Voided, which can't be reversed. Admins will now see an Estimate of Impacted People field, with built-in variance checks to stop the process if the actual impact exceeds expectations

Global Human Resources

  • The Guided Journeys preview page now lets you pass parameter token values directly to a task path, making it easier to test how content like OTBI analyses will appear when embedded. This enhancement supports task types such as Analytics, External URLs, Reports, and User Defined Content.

  • Starting with Oracle Cloud 25C release, Redwood journey pages are enabled by default, replacing the older Responsive Checklist, Onboarding, and Allocated Checklist pages. This shift brings a more modern interface, better performance, and a consistent experience across the application, with no extra setup needed.

  • The Guided Journey banner now defaults to the Compact Page Banner for a cleaner, simplified look. When creating a new template, the Display Type field is no longer shown, and the Standard Page Banner option is no longer available.

  • Journey and task notifications are now easier to customize. You can directly configure alert notifications from the journey or task UI based on the event type, no need to use Alerts Composer separately. This makes it simpler to send relevant updates, reminders, and alerts throughout the journey lifecycle

Compensation

  • The Analyze Salary feature is now available across all key Global HR flows, including promotions, transfers, and assignment changes. It helps you run what-if scenarios to assess the impact on salary metrics before finalizing a proposed salary

  • You can now configure rate values to be calculated based on a candidate’s or pending worker’s proposed start date instead of the creation date. If the proposed start date changes, the rate values will automatically update to reflect the new timing.

Oracle Redwood 25C FAQs

What’s changing in 25C with Redwood, and is it optional?

Redwood isn't just a design facelift anymore. In the 25C release, it becomes the default experience across key modules like HCM, Procurement, Payroll, and parts of Manufacturing and SCM. And no, you can't switch back to the classic UI in most cases. It’s now mandatory in places like Self-Service Procurement, Payroll Activity Center, and Journey Pages

Is there any flexibility to delay the Oracle Redwood rollout for our users?

Not really. In 25C, Oracle has removed the option to toggle between old and new UIs for most affected modules. You’ll need to adapt now. That means checking role access, custom personalization, and making sure your teams are trained up before the cutover.

We’ve got a bunch of OTBI reports embedded into Journeys. Will they still work?

They’ll still work, and now you can even pass token values into Journey task pages in Redwood. This means your OTBI dashboards, external reports, or URLs can show dynamic content based on who's opening the page. Just make sure your roles and filters still work correctly in the new layout.

We’ve done a lot of personalization using Page Composer. Do we need to redo it?

Yup. Redwood doesn’t use the old Page Composer setup. If you’ve built custom fields, layouts, or extensions using classic tools, you’ll likely need to rebuild them using Visual Builder Studio or integrate via REST APIs. Also, check if those pages are even customizable. Not all Redwood screens are.

Do we need to update any roles or privileges to access Redwood pages?

Definitely. Some new Redwood pages require different security privileges than their classic counterparts. For example, new pages in Work Definitions, Procurement, and Payroll have different access points. Use Oracle’s Security Console or the Role Analyzer tool to make sure your custom roles include the latest privileges.

Are APIs or background jobs changing with Redwood?

Backend processes like REST APIs and scheduled jobs mostly stay the same, but a few new fields and endpoints have been added to match the Redwood UI changes. For example, order line reservation, Work Order material assignment, and Journey event triggers might expose new metadata that didn’t exist before.

What are some gotchas we should watch out for during the Redwood shift?

A few:

  • Inconsistent UI: Not all modules are fully on Redwood yet, so users might jump between different UI styles
  • No fallback: Once a Redwood page is live, there's no going back to the classic UI
  • Training gap: The new layout feels different, so users who are used to the old flow might need a walkthrough
What’s new in Oracle SCM and Planning with Redwood 25C?

Oracle’s added some cool stuff:

  • In Supply Planning, you can now do mass edits inside simulations, and see pegging details inline
  • In Backlog Management, there’s a new allocation page where you can reassign supply across customers and regions based on actual demand
  • Make sure your collections and ATP rules are up-to-date to take full advantage.
Can we handle FDA-style e-signatures for manufacturing in Redwood now?

Yes. If you’re in a regulated industry, 25C supports inline e-signatures and e-records for material transactions in manufacturing. It works well for GMP compliance, and everything is logged securely. Just make sure your approval workflows and roles are configured correctly.

Are saved searches and personal views easier to manage now?

Much better. Users can now customize their saved searches, including layout, filters, and sort order, and those settings stick. Admins can also set default views for everyone. It’s smoother, faster, and more consistent across modules like Order Management and Procurement.

Can we extend Redwood pages like we used to in classic UI?

To some extent, yes. You’ll now use Oracle Visual Builder Studio (VBS) for custom components, or the Excel VB Add-in for things like Inventory reconciliation. Not all pages are fully open for editing yet, so check Oracle’s docs for what's customizable and what's not.
